Although many may agree that the style right now
is body and waves, I get a lot of clients coming
in wanting straight smooth tresses. There's nothing
like gorgeous, shiny, silky smooth straight hair.
To achieve that straight shiny look, don't just
rely on your hair straightener. You need to take
care of your hair before as well as after straightening.
Start by a great shampoo and conditioner that
gently cleanse the hair and maintains moisture
and balance. Ensure they contain heat-activated
amino cystines which provide protection from styling
tool damage and prevents cuticle cracking. I always
use and recommend White Sands Phase 1 Shampoo
which is sulphate free and gives that extra shine
and Phase 2 Corrective Condition which replenishes
and restores lost moisture.
Once you've shampooed and conditioned squeeze
the excess water from your hair with a towel and
apply the best emergency reconstructive treatment
I've used. White Sands ER Fusion. Comb this through
your hair and it will soften, condition, hydrate
and lather hair. ER Fusion contains clear micro
shield to lock condition. It also detangles and
continues to self-adjust moisture balance within
the cuticle.
Once you've achieved that soft hair feel, blow
dry your hair with a large round brush. For the
best straightening results, get your hair straightener
running and start underneath the layer of your
hair section by section ensuring that the sections
are small.
